Renaissance painters sometimes
put a window in the background, so the eye
would have someplace to escape.

Pupils latch on and crawl
over the billboards and magazines
to take in all the shapes

I am just a man,
with noisy hands searching for
a window on your body
as I reflect on the things
I did not give up for lent.
