MOONLIGHT
Of course, it matters what color the lemon is.
Lemons are points in space
that spin and spin.
They are no ordinary breadth
or width or depth,
no ordinary object
in a yellow chrome.
Consider the color, shape,
scent of lemon
in its own place
and time,
spinning, spinning, spinning, spinning.
It might well be
Moonlight in Vermont
making a garden yellow,
in snow, or a spider
in the window pane
spinning, spinning, spinning, spinning.
