TREATMENT
With medication
thoughts become bent nails.
Nothing drives through,
makes a bind.
Hammer only glances,
bends them more.
The mind nods.
It's like wax dripping
on a finger. First
a warm caress, then a cooling --
stiff, immobile, set to crack.
