WHAT YOU'VE LET IN
The flight of the wasp
circling in wide arcs
across the length of the sagging ceiling
startles you from your straw chair and
gets you to thinking:
"I should not open the porch door
merely to gaze across the dying hedges
at the fresh coat of dew
settled
upon the tin roofs."
