THE OTHER NIGHT BOBBY CAME TO WORK IN DRAG

just stopped by to visit
and ended up
working off the clock making sandwiches
at the burger board
in his tight leather mini and mesh stockings
and a fall that fell to about
the middle
of his back
wearing some kind of weird perfume
i'd never smelled before
so i said bobby what is that stuff you've got on
what he said what
that perfume i said
oh he said that isn't perfume that's a preservative
i have to keep on the hair
so it stays soft and svelte in the box
if the hair aint right you won't even get

and he gave that shy little girl smile of his
showing the gap between his teeth
which he wouldn't have to live with he said if his mama
had ever cared enough about his future to get
